Impacts of ghost fishing

An abandoned crab pot removed from the Great Lakes region shows evidence of ghost fishing. Ghost fishing occurs when derelict fishing gear, such as lost fish nets or crab traps as seen in this photo, continue to fish after they are lost or discarded in the marine environment
